Responsibilities:

  • Expected caseload is approximately 15-17 cases – PLEASE NOTE THAT ACTUAL CASELOAD WILL VARY ACCORDING TO AGENCY NEED;
  • Provide a full range of emergency/temporary foster care service to foster parents and children (which includes training, crisis intervention services, placement and monitoring, and transporting);
  • Work on-call hours as directed;
  • Interface with all providers for the purpose of planning meetings;
  • Prepare monthly progress reports and other reports that are required by Allegheny County Children and Youth Services, DPW and this agency;
  • Adhere to all other program and agency policies and procedures governing the objective of the agency and program

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in a Social Work or a related field required plus at least three years of experience working directly with children in a child related field
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills; and must have the ability to work with persons from various ethnic backgrounds, with particular emphasis in working with families of African American heritage.

  • Certificate of Insurance for vehicle
  • Valid Pennsylvania Drivers License
  • City/County travel
  • Current Act 33 and State Police Clearances
  • Carry Cell phone
  • On call
  • Available to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
