Scam Alert Regarding Applications For Housing

HACP staff would like to alert housing applicants of a possible scam that is circulating Facebook and the internet.

The post (pictured below) features a notice indicating the Pennsylvania Housing Authority is opening waiting lists for public housing and the Housing Choice Voucher/Section 8 Program. The notice also lists the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh’s address for the in-person location to apply by May 31.

Please note this notice is likely a scam and is NOT affiliated with the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh.

The only waiting lists HACP currently has open are multiple Low-Income Public Housing Sites throughout the city. HACP’s Housing Choice Voucher and Project-Based Voucher Waiting Lists are currently closed.

Our LIPH Waiting Lists also currently do NOT have a set closing date, so applicants can still submit their pre-applications after May 31.
